Previous Workshops
We’ve had such a wonderful time running our workshops so far — watching creativity flow, seeing kids and adults connect with nature, and embracing the joy of getting a little messy along the way. Every session has been filled with learning, laughter, teamwork, and beautiful moments of discovery. Here’s a look back at some of the inspiring creations and experiences we’ve shared together.

Adobe Brick Making - Half Day Workshop
Date: 9th August 2025
Our very first workshop was a half-day introduction to adobe brick making, and it couldn’t have been a more joyful start. We were joined by a wonderful family — including our youngest participant at just four years old — as well as two architecture enthusiasts keen to learn more about natural building.
Together, we explored how to test the earth, mix the perfect blend (with plenty of mud-dancing!), and form strong adobe bricks. We wrapped up the morning with a delicious lunch in the jungle.
Our youngest team member even declared it “the best day ever!”

ark Eden summer camps
Date: Summer 2025
As part of the Ark Eden summer programme, we introduced adobe brick making to hundreds of excited campers throughout Summer 2025. We prepared full training documents and information packs for the team leaders, helped set up the activity spaces, and supported the mixing and materials prep each day. All summer long, kids had an amazing time learning how to mix earth, stomp mud, and make their very own adobe bricks — turning natural building into a fun, hands-on adventure for everyone involved.

family day: earth art for children
Date: 29th October 2025
What a fantastic day in the jungle for our Family Day: Earth Art for children!
We got messy and muddy, danced to music in the mud, built bricks and walls, and created some beautiful earth art canvases! From 13 months to 10 years old, everyone had a blast—even a birthday celebration made it extra special!
We also managed to devour a whole giant watermelon 🍉 (and plenty of other fruits and snacks too!)

Excavating Earth + Adobe Brick Making
Date: 1st November 2025
A wonderful mixed group joined us — from complete beginners simply wanting to reconnect with nature to those dreaming of building their own earth home — and everyone jumped right in, testing mixes, making bricks, and sharing a delicious vegetarian lunch in the jungle.
They loved it so much that every single participant signed up for one or more additional workshops afterwards.

Family Day: Earth Art For Children
Date: 2nd November 2025
After our first Earth Art for Children workshop fully sold out, we added a second date — and it was just as wonderful as the first. Some children arrived a little unsure about touching the mud, but with gentle, playful activities they were soon fully immersed, exploring textures, getting creative, and growing more confident by the minute.
By the end, every child was happily hands-on and proud of the incredible earth art they created. A beautiful day of creativity, connection, and muddy smiles.

yoga in the jungle
Date: 8th November 2025
At Bisque-kit, we love using our platform to support and collaborate with other amazing local creators. Jade Mantis, a new wellness company offering yoga and mindful activities, joined us for a beautiful morning session on Ark Eden’s jungle deck.
There’s truly nowhere more peaceful to practise than under the soft morning light, surrounded by leaves, birdsong, and fresh forest air. A calm, grounding start to the day with a wonderful group.

earth 3d artwork
Date: 9th November 2025
We were joined by a few of the lovely ladies from the wonderful Lantau Earth Palette — another inspiring local studio doing beautiful things with natural pigments — along with some other budding artists.
We began by creating a large communal artwork, giving everyone space to explore the techniques and experience working at a bigger scale. This piece will soon be hanging proudly on Ark Eden’s walls!
After that, each participant moved on to their own canvas, and it was amazing to see the unique directions everyone took. No two pieces were alike.
The workshop was meant to finish at 4:30… but everyone was so absorbed and content creating that we happily carried on past time. A truly joyful, creative afternoon.

excavating earth + adobe brick making
Date: 15th November 2025
We almost cancelled this workshop after a few last-minute dropouts, but decided to go ahead since Lai had signed up for the full four-part series — and I’m so glad we did! We ended up having the most wonderful day together. Lai brought incredible energy, enthusiasm, and curiosity, jumping straight into the earth with a huge smile.
She even managed to make as many bricks on her own as our group of five did in a previous workshop! A truly inspiring reminder that small groups can create big magic.

adobe wall building
Date: 16th November 2025
We had a fantastic day with many returning participants coming back to learn how to turn their adobe bricks into strong, beautiful walls. We began by giving the new joiners a chance to make a few bricks of their own, with our returners proudly showing them the ropes. We did lose a couple of bricks to Miss Abigail — the dog who hadn’t quite learned she can’t walk on them — but it added plenty of laughter to the day!
There was music, clay dancing, and even some spontaneous clay art as everyone got creative. Ania then guided the group through the essentials of wall building: how to line up, cut, and level each brick to construct a solid, durable earth wall. A joyful, hands-on day from start to finish.

plastering with earth
Date: 22nd November 2025
A beautiful workshop led by Ania, where participants learned how to create perfectly smooth earth plaster, mix stunning natural pigment colours, and imprint delicate patterns using foraged foliage. Because plastering requires finely sieved earth and sand, the mix becomes incredibly soft — so soft that a few of the ladies even treated themselves to natural clay face masks! A little free spa moment in the middle of a creative day. A relaxed, tactile, and uplifting workshop from start to finish.

earth 3d artwork
Date: 23rd November 2025
Led by Alex, this workshop explored how to create 3D sculptural canvases using earth, natural pigments, and imprints. We were joined by a wonderful group of families who brought amazing creativity and teamwork to the day. Their large group canvas even evolved into a brilliant idea — transforming it into a game they plan to use at an upcoming school event! It was inspiring to see all ages collaborating, experimenting, and bringing their ideas to life together.

earth sgraffito - two day workshop
Date: 29th-30th November 2025
Sgraffito is a traditional technique where designs are carved into layered plaster to reveal the colours beneath. This was our specialist two-part workshop running across the whole weekend, where participants worked on both their own canvases and on the walls of Ark Eden’s compost toilets — building on the beautifully prepared surfaces created during our Plastering Workshop.
The compost toilets are now officially the fanciest toilets around, decorated with stunning artwork on every wall! Our participants loved the process so much that they even came back on Monday and Tuesday of the following week to keep carving and adding to the designs.
